We had an exciting weekend!
Meredith’s brother Scott and his fiance Miriam came up to visit. It was great seeing Scott again and nice to finally meet Miriam.
They make a cute couple, and boy, Reed went nuts over them. He immediately jumped into their arms and started playing with them like they were long, lost friends. It was fun to watch.

OMG.. More people to Jump on!
We all had a blast and I hope that we can schedule some time in NYC to see them this summer.
Their visit was a nice change of pace for Reed, who the past two weeks has been socked with RSV and a double-ear infection (his 4th so far since December.) While all of that was happening, he also cut his first two teeth.

They are sharper than they look
He’s getting back to his usual happy self now, so it seems like the RSV is behind him and the otitis media is improving.
If the infections keep recurring, he’s probably on his way to getting tubes. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that he grows out of it.

I once heard of someone who took their baby to a chiropractor, who was able to help do an adjustment that allowed the child’s ears to drain better and prevented the need for tubes in the ears. (No idea if it’s a good idea, but something to look into if you want to avoid surgery.)
Goodness knows ear infections are no fun.

Interesting! Now that’s something I hadn’t heard before. I’m sure when the time comes (which will likely be soon) we’ll explore all possible options with our pediatrician and a specialist. I can’t stand the thought of him getting surgery, but if it’ll prevent him from going through what he’s had the past 2 months, it’ll be worth it.

Poor little wee man! I hope you guys are staying safe (and away from the black ice!) with all the snow. It is so hard when the little guys are sick. I hope Reed is better soon. Kudos to him getting those teeth in with everything else.
